Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind is a joint venture between TotalEnergies, Corio Generation (a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management operating on a standalone basis) and Gulf Energy Development. The Joint Venture (GTR4 Ltd) have the seabed lease rights from The Crown Estate to develop a 1.5 GW project in the UK southern North Sea. The project is in the Development Phase with the aim to achieve all the necessary consents and complete the necessary surveys and engineering to enable the project to become operational before 2030. The position is an important role within this integrated JV project team.

ODOW is looking for an Export Cables Package Manager, who will manage and provide leadership to a multidisciplinary cables team and will have accountability for the delivery of the Export cables contracts.

Role Description

The position of Export Cables Package Manager is a full-time hybrid role with flexibility to work from a remote location with regular visits to the London Office located in Farringdon. The expectation of this role is for 2 days in the office with the potential for needing to undertake additional travel as required.

The Export Cables Package Manager shall report to the Senior Project Manager and work closely with the other Package Managers and JV functions.

As Export Cables Package Manager you will develop and provide leadership to a multidisciplinary cables team and will have accountability for the delivery of the Export cables contracts, which will include the management of a wide range of areas, included but not limited to:

  • Health, safety, environment and quality
  • Design
  • Programme
  • Commercial, claims and risks
  • Project reporting and development of processes and procedures

Main responsibilities

As Export Package Manager your primary responsibilities will be;

  • HSSE performance through design and implementation to eliminate or reduce risks during construction, operation and maintenance,
  • Review and implementation of FEED contracts, support main asset procurement and detail design.
  • Define, develop and successfully manage the interfaces with the rest of project packages,
  • Undertake tender document preparation, bid reviews and evaluations, contract negotiation and complete contract execution, including claim management up to hand over to the operation team,
  • Develop the day-to-day interaction with the Contractor to ensure adherence with the HSSE, quality, scope, budget, technical requirements and time schedule,
  • Manage technical and commercial risks, issues and impacts of changes to the project,
  • Report to the Senior Project Manager on progress, issues and changes
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver the works under your responsibilities.

Specific Role Competencies:

  • Master’s in Engineering with extensive experience and knowledge in submarine cable system design and installation operations,
  • Good knowledge of current health, safety and environmental legislation,
  • Significant and in-depth experience in Project Management of offshore submarine cables,
  • High level of competency in contract management, claims management, negotiation techniques and dispute resolution methodologies,
  • Highly motivated individual with a positive attitude ensuring adequate interfaces, controls and communication are established and maintained in all aspects of project management,
  • Ability to identify a problem or conflict, identify potential solutions and evaluate the solutions leading to a recommendation for the optimum solution,
  • Good English communication skills both written and verbal,
