No previous experience is required – just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to share your views and represent the young people in your community. The Community liaison groups exist to involve key local stakeholders in the development of the Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind project (landfall, onshore cable route and substation) through presentations, discussions and planned workshop activities. The meetings are a two-way communication channel between local communities and the project team that help foster local involvement and ownership of the project. You can read more about the work of our community liaison groups along with previous minutes and presentations here.
To be eligible to apply you must be aged between 15 and 17 on Dec 31st 2026 and live in Boston, Spalding, Skegness or within any Parish that crosses the onshore underground cable route or onshore substation area. You can check where the onshore project footprint is using our interactive map.
Youth representatives will require a guardian or parent to act as a chaperone at the meetings that will be held in person at three locations along the cable route and online.
Successful applicants will be expected to attend 2-3 meetings per year. For more details, please email contact@outerdowsing.com. This is an unpaid role; however, it provides valuable work experience for only a few hours of attendance per year.
A selection committee formed of existing community liaison group members and Outer Dowsing team will select participants based on a cover letter (1 page max).
Make your voice heard while gaining experience that can help shape your future career!
